The Bapatla district police on Tuesday reportedly arrested three members of an inter-State gang from Madhya Pradesh accused of committing a series of robberies across multiple districts in Andhra Pradesh and other southern States. The accused, were allegedly involved in 18 offences spanning Bapatla, Guntur, Prakasam and Nellore districts.

According to police, the gang was allegedly responsible for a robbery reported on January 27, 2026, at Gandhi Nagar in Chirala. The accused reportedly broke into the house of Bacchu Venkata Subba Satya Ramanjaneyulu in the early hours, assaulted him and his sister, an Assistant Public Prosecutor, and decamped with about 64 grams of gold ornaments.
