Palakkad Division of Southern Railway generated a revenue of ₹42.37 crore through systematic disposal of scrap, including released rails, condemned sleepers and other rail fittings. Divisional Railway Manager Madhukar Roat said the money would be used to improve railway infrastructure and passenger services. Palakkad Division remains dedicated to maximising returns from non-serviceable assets while ensuring operational efficiency and safety standards, he added.
