TDP State general secretary Paruchuri Ashok Babu on Saturday called the rejection of the resignation letter of MLC Jayamangalam Venkataramana by Legislative Council Chairman K. Moshenu Raju as a “death blow to democracy,” and attributed it to intense political pressure.

Mr. Ashok Babu pointed out that Mr. Venkataramana had not just put in his papers but stood up in the House and requested the Chairman to accept his resignation, but to no avail as Mr. Moshenu Raju kept it pending for over a year.
