Leader of the Opposition V.D. Satheesan said on Saturday that the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) will order a probe into the “corruption” behind the decision to cancel the long-term, 465 MW Design, Build, Finance, Own and Operate (DBFOO) power supply contracts if it comes to power. It was the decision to cancel these contracts that has now led to unscheduled loadsheddings and power restrictions across the State this summer, Mr. Satheesan said. Such restrictions, imposed amid the soaring summer heat even at night time, should be withdrawn immediately, he said.
