The police on Saturday arrested S.A.S. Arokiyasamy, DMK East Union Secretary for Manapparai, in connection with a clash reported at a TASMAC bar earlier this month and for allegedly conspiring to disrupt public harmony. According to the police, a case was registered at the Manapparai police station following an incident on April 10 in which Balasubramaniam, said to be a BJP functionary, was allegedly assaulted by three persons — Saravanan, Gopi and Siva — after a dispute. The three were arrested earlier.
