Palaniswami on Saturday thanked the people of the State for recording the highest turnout on the day of polling for the Assembly election. In a statement, he said the people had braved the searing heat and exercised their franchise from 7 a.m. till the evening on Thursday (April 23, 2026). He also thanked the leaders and volunteers of his party and allies for having worked tirelessly. Mr. Palaniswami advised the agents of his party and other constituents of the National Democratic Alliance to maintain vigil at the counting centres on the day of counting of votes (May 4, 2026).
