A sub inspector of police sustained cut injuries on his hand when he was attacked by a person at the Puducherry Railway Station. The police identified the injured officer as Saravanan. He sustained injuries while trying to prevent one Manikandan, a resident of Mannarkudi, from entering the railway platform. The accused was earlier removed from the platform for his disruptive behaviour inside the Railway station. While he attacked the sub inspector, the other police personnel who were present at the Railway Station overpowered and arrested him. The accused has been remanded to judicial custody.
