Facing widespread absenteeism in the ongoing National Census–2027 exercise, city corporations under the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) have issued warnings to enumerators and supervisors, directing them to immediately report to duty, noting that failure to comply will lead to strict legal and disciplinary action under the Census Act, 1948.

Across corporations, officials said thousands of enumerators and supervisors had already been appointed and trained, but a section of staff either skipped training or failed to report to their assigned census blocks.
