Contesting election to seek justice, ensure people’s welfare, says Porkodi Armstrong

There are only two things that Porkodi Armstrong, the wife of the slain Bahujan Samaj Party leader K. Armstrong, wants to achieve – work for the welfare of the people and justice for her husband’s murder. Her husband Armstrong was hacked to death on July 5, 2024 in Perambur by four men, disguised as food delivery agents, attacked him with machetes.

Campaigning through the streets of Puliyanthope, Porkodi is immediately greeted by the people who had been eagerly waiting for her for the past two hours. People clamour to offer her a shawl and she graciously accepts them. Some call out ‘Anni’ (sister in law).
