Midday meal workers submit memorandum to Ballari Zilla Panchayat CEO

Members of the Karnataka State Joint Akshara Dasoha Workers Union, affiliated to the All India United Trade Union Centre (AIUTUC), submitted a memorandum to the Zilla Panchayat CEO in Ballari on Friday, pressing for the fulfilment of their demands.

In the memorandum, the union highlighted the crucial role played by midday meal workers, particularly women, in implementing the school nutrition programme across government and aided primary and secondary schools. It stated that the workers were instrumental in addressing malnutrition among children by preparing and serving meals, including milk, eggs and fruits, with care and dedication.
