SHETTIGAR An Indian Gaur that fell into the Varahi canal, near Asodu Kumara Mahalingeshwara Temple, in Kalavara Gram Panchayat of Udupi district on Friday noon, was rescued by the Forest Department officials on Saturday. The animal got trapped in the canal for nearly 20 hours, spending the entire night on Friday, before being rescued. The local residents suspected that the Gaur could have come near the temple in search of food and water.
