Religious fervour marked the celebration of Goddess Kanyaka Parameswari Jayanti at Sri Vasavi Kanyakaparameshwari temple in Khammam on Sunday. Special pujas, recitation of hymns and religious discourses were held at the temple on the occasion. In a statement, temple committee chairman Mellacheruvu Venkateshwara Rao thanked the Telangana government for declaring Sri Vasavi Kanyaka Parameswari Jayanti as official State festival.
