Ragesh The Kozhikode District Congress Committee (DCC) has expressed the confidence that United Democratic Front (UDF) candidates will win all the 13 seats in the district in the recently held Assembly polls. DCC president and UDF candidate from Koyilandy, K. Praveenkumar, told the media on Tuesday (April 14, 2025) that in at least eight constituencies, the victory margin of the UDF candidates would be a five-digit figure. He claimed that even supporters of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] had voted for the UDF as they wanted a change of government. “The number of LDF MLAs from the district will be zero this time. The Congress will have more than one MLA. There was no tough contest anywhere in the district and the UDF will register a historic victory. We have also been able to resist the BJP’s onslaught,” Mr. Praveenkumar said. The Congress leader claimed that the people’s mandate in favour of the UDF could be far higher compared with the results in the local body polls and the Lok Sabha elections.
