U.M.T Raja, a 57-year-old activist from Coimbatore, performed Padmasana in a 90-ft. well at Kuniyamuthur, holding a placard reading “100% voting” as part of a voter awareness demonstration on Wednesday. Mr. Raja floated on his back in the well, facing the sky with his legs folded in Padmasana. The demonstration was aimed at urging voters to cast their ballots and refrain from accepting cash for votes.
