Amid the searing summer heat taking a toll on people—particularly the elderly and children—a dedicated ward has been set up at K.R. Hospital and Cheluvamba Hospital, both attached to the Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMCRI), to treat heatstroke cases.

With rising temperatures and delayed pre-monsoon showers, heat stress is emerging as a growing concern. Anticipating an increase in such cases, the MMCRI has put special arrangements in place to treat patients affected by extreme heat exposure.
