The Karnataka Transport Department has initiated the integration of its Pollution Under Control Certificate (PUC/PUCC) records with the Centre’s VAHAN (Parivahan) portal, following multiple complaints of vehicles registered in the State being penalised in other parts of the country due to missing emission data on the national database.

Officials said that the linking process will apply to all PUC certificates issued from April 1, 2026, onwards. The move comes after several instances wherein Karnataka-registered vehicles were fined up to ₹10,000 in other States, as enforcement systems could not detect valid pollution certificates on the VAHAN platform.
