Police stepped up action against illegal IPL betting in Chittoor and Sri Sathya Sai districts, arresting 13 persons in two separate raids and seizing cash and mobile phones on Friday night. In Chittoor district, six persons were arrested at a forest area near Kaigal Cross in Baireddipalli mandal along the Palamaner-Krishnagiri National highway. Acting on a tip-off, police raided the spot and found the accused allegedly placing bets on ongoing IPL matches. Nearly ₹40,000 in cash and six mobile phones were seized from them.
