The Railway Protection Force (RPF), Thiruvananthapuram Division, has foiled an incident of illegal garbage dumping near railway tracks by miscreants. The incident came to light on Thursday, when track maintenance staff reported the presence of multiple garbage bags along the railway track between Thiruvananthapuram Central and Pettah railway stations. Acting swiftly, the RPF personnel launched an inquiry, examining CCTV footage and collecting on-ground evidence. A crucial breakthrough came when investigators recovered a receipt from a local cooperative society within the dumped waste.
