A major accident was averted at Anakapalli railway station on Saturday when a foot overbridge(FOB) under construction partially collapsed. The incident occurred while workers were installing girders for the new FOB. Eyewitnesses said the structure gave way suddenly, sending heavy iron beams and pillars crashing onto the railway tracks.
