There are reasons. More than 90 percent of residents in the constituency depend on agriculture. Then, Cheyyar river, which is a lifeline for residents in the region, remains seasonal; however, the irrigation network facilitates cultivation. “Except for a few months, Cheyyar river remains bone-dry.
