The request placed by Government Arts and Science College for Women at Puliakulam in Coimbatore for new UG and PG programmes is pending with the Department of Higher Education for the past two years, according to sources.

It was in 2024 that the college sought UG programmes in psychology, economics, political science, chemistry, botany and zoology and PG programmes in Tamil, English, mathematics, commerce and computer science. Subsequently, the college was sanctioned B.A. Economics and permitted to offer UG programme in computer science and commerce in second shift.
