Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi unveiled the statue of poet-saint ‘Kavichakravarthi’ Kambar at Kambar Vanam, Lok Bhavan, in Chennai on Thursday (January 29, 2026), as part of Lok Bhavan’s ongoing initiatives to celebrate his legacy.

A social media post by Lok Bhavan underlined the poet-saint’s unparalleled contributions that enriched Tamil literature and culture, strengthened the country’s civilizational consciousness, and inspired the spirit of nationalism that fuelled India’s freedom movement.

Eminent Tamil scholars, members of Kambar Kazhagams and other cultural institutions from across Tamil Nadu, and students, including winners of Statewide essay competitions on the poet-saint, participated in the event. Governor felicitated the sculptor of the statue, Siddarth Nagappa.
