“Quantum computing has grown from thought experiments to trillion dollar technology making the impossible possible. Quantum computing represents a new era of computers. While traditional computers work on bits, quantum computers operate on qubits. As a result, they can perform multiple calculations simultaneously,” said A.R. Usha Devi from the Department of Physics, Bangalore University, in Belagavi on Thursday.

She was speaking at a two-day National Quantum Students Conference and Symposium 2026 organized by VTU Quantum Club Jnanasangama in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC).
