A poster of Eko | Photo Credit: special arrangement Mystery thriller Eko directed by Dinjith Ayyathan has won the award for the best film in the 49th Kerala Film Critics Award for the year 2025. Dominic Arun bagged the best director award for Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra. Mohanlal was adjudged best actor (male) for his performances in Thudarum and Hridayapoorvam. Kalyani Priyadarshan (Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra) and Anaswara Rajan (Rekhachithram, Mr and Mrs Bachelor) shared the best actor (female) award. As many as 60 films were in contention for the awards this year. Jury chairperson George Onakkur and Kerala Film Critics Association general secretary Thekkinkaad Joseph declared the awards in Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday (April 29, 2026).
