District Election Officer and Collector S. Kandasamy, on Wednesday (April 29, 2026) inspected the security and monitoring arrangements for Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) used in the Assembly elections in the district. The inspection was carried out at the Government Engineering College, Chithode, and Gobi Arts and Science College, Gobichettipalayam, where the sealed EVMs and VVPATs are kept under three-tier security. The machines are being monitored round-the-clock through surveillance cameras, with live feed displayed on LED screens. Polling was held on April 23 across all eight constituencies in the district. The EVMs were subsequently sealed and stored constituency-wise in strong rooms at the two counting centres on April 24.
