Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam joint general secretary C.T.R. Nirmal Kumar on Wednesday met Chief Electoral Officer Archana Patnaik at the Secretariat in Chennai, demanding that the counting of postal ballots be video recorded in full and shared with political parties. Speaking to journalists, Mr. Kumar said the party had urged the Election Commission to step up security arrangements in strong rooms where Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) are kept in custody and deploying additional Central Reserve Police Force personnel at counting centres on May 4.
