Black flag demonstrations and protest gatherings will be staged on April 27, 2026, by aggrieved investors in front of the establishments and residences of those accused of defaulting on loans worth crores taken from the Angamaly Urban Cooperative Society. The march will commence from Angamaly town under the aegis of Angamaly Urban Cooperative Society Depositors’ Protection Committee, a collective of people who lost their investments in the society. The Crime Branch has launched a probe into the alleged ₹96-crore scam. So far, around 10 persons, including former director board members and staff of the society, have been arrested. Depositors have been struggling to recover their investments for the past three years.
