MURALI KUMAR With an aim to increase enrolment in government schools and pre-university (PU) colleges, the State government has decided to advertise these institutions by installing hoardings in public places for the first time. Speaking at an interaction with The Hindu on Wednesday, Minister for School Education and Literacy Madhu Bangarappa said that admissions for government schools and PU colleges for 2026-27 had already begun and they were working towards improving enrolment. “Like private schools and colleges put up hoardings promoting their institutions, we will also put up two hoardings per taluk and also at high footfall areas like railway stations, bus stands, etc. These hoardings will have all facilities available at these institutions and in case of schools schemes for students. The hoardings may also feature high performing students from these institutions,” he said.
