J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday (April 16, 2026) advocated a joint response of the INDIA bloc to the proposed parliamentary Bill on delimitation of the central government.

“The INDIA bloc will have to decide together what will be the response to this bill and what will be their role in Parliament. Individual parties acting alone would not be effective. There is a need for collective decision-making within the alliance,” said Mr. Abdullah.

He said both the proposed increase in the Lok Sabha seats and women’s representation need “to be examined collectively by the Opposition”.
