While Pudukottai district encompasses six Assembly constituencies, the number of Assembly segments in Perambalur district is two. Polling commenced at the scheduled time of 7 a.m. in both districts with voters turning out in steady numbers to exercise their franchise at the respective polling booths where necessary measures were put in place for the smooth conduct of the election.
