Jothi Ramalingam Ayush Mhatre, the in-form top-order Chennai Super Kings batter, has been ruled out of the remaining Indian Premier League season owing to a left hamstring injury he suffered against Sunrisers Hyderabad earlier in the week. Mhatre’s injury compounds injury concerns for the franchise that’s struggling for consistent results this season. The Hindu understands that Mhatre, the Under-19 World Cup-winning captain, underwent scans here on Monday (April 20) after CSK arrived to take on the Mumbai Indians on Thursday (April 23, 2026) in one of the most anticipated IPL clashes every season. A statement issued by the Chennai Super Kings confirmed that Mhatre’s rehabilitation will take “six to 12 weeks”.
