Senthamil Selvan, the 38-year-old engineering graduate who was the district secretary of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and is the DMK candidate for Coimbatore North, starts his campaign at about 7 a.m. every day. He goes to voters either by foot or on the campaign vehicle. “I had prepared a manifesto for the Constituency, listing the main needs of the people of Coimbatore North,” he told The Hindu, as he sat down for a glass of tea at a local shop at Netaji Nagar at Seeranaickenpalayam on Friday morning.
