Manjunath Urging the Forest Department to preserve the present ecology at the Pilikula Nisaragadhama and its surroundings, environmental activists at a public hearing on Friday opposed the move to fell 191 trees to build Golf Training Academy and an overhead water tank in the golf course by the Pilikula Golf Club. They urged the Club to build the academy on the 72-acre land of the club without cutting down trees. They sought Forest Department, which conducted the hearing, not to permit tree felling.
