Delink quota from delimitation, says CPI(M)

Communist Party of India (Marxist) Andhra Pradesh State secretary V. Srinivasa Rao has written an open letter to Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu, urging him to place facts before the public on the Women’s Reservation and delimitation issues.

In the letter dated April 19 (Sunday), Mr. Srinivasa Rao criticised the Union Minister’s recent media remarks in New Delhi, alleging that they misrepresented the link between delimitation and the proposed implementation of women’s reservation. He said linking the Women’s Reservation Bill to delimitation was a deliberate move by the Centre to delay its rollout.
