Civil Supplies dept. ensures ration distribution amidst missing stock in Edamalakkudy

As ration distribution came to a standstill in Edamalakkudy—the State’s first tribal panchayat—the Civil Supplies Department arranged a parallel distribution system to ensure food security for the community.

According to the Idukki District Supply Officer, distribution responsibilities have been handed over to the owner of the Munnar Thalayar ration shop. This move follows a massive shortage of approximately 65,000 kg of rice at the Devikulam Girijan Society, which previously operated two ration shops in Societykudy and Vellavarakkudy.
