Election authorities have arranged for 18,971 police personnel, who will be engaged in bandobast duty at polling stations in the city, to vote by a postal ballot on April 18 and 20, following the directions of the District Election Officer (DEO). The Chennai Police Commissioner issued instructions to ensure that personnel on election duty across 16 Assembly constituencies within the city limits could exercise their franchise without disrupting law and order responsibilities.
