A pregnant passenger delivered a baby onboard a train with assistance from railway staff at Bantwal railway station, in Karnataka, on April 26 evening. 

As per a statement from Mysuru division of South Western Railway, the pregnant passenger, Ponnamma, was travelling in the general coach of the train running between Murdeshwar and Bengaluru. She was found to be in distress and experiencing heavy bleeding when the train arrived at Bantwal railway station at 7.22 p.m.
