Jannayak Janta Party leader and former Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Monday alleged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was holding meetings and seminars in State universities to promote an ideology that “restricts students’ worldview”, adding that his objective was to “save educational institutions from saffronisation”.

Mr. Chautala made the remarks at a “Chhatra Hit Mahapanchayat” in Hisar, held against the backdrop of a confrontation between him and Crime Investigation Agency personnel and a protest by his party’s youth wing at Guru Jambheshwar University (GJU) in the district earlier this month.
