Delhi Police holding a security session with residents on Sunday. | Photo Credit: Special Arrangement The Delhi police on Sunday held interactive sessions with residents’ welfare associations (RWAs), traders’ associations, and other groups regarding safety protocols and precautions ahead of Republic Day. The sessions were part of the law enforcement agency’s ‘Eyes and Ears’ outreach programme among the city residents. The participants were sensitised to safety measures such as installing CCTV cameras, conducting tenant verification, monitoring the entry of hawkers, and maintaining a guest logbook. “SIM card vendors were asked to strictly adhere to guidelines while issuing new numbers. Second-hand car dealers were told to ensure proper verification of buyers and timely transfer of vehicle ownership,” read the statement. It added that parking attendants were directed to remain vigilant at all times and promptly report any suspicious activity. The police also shared the 14547 helpline to report suspicious activities.
