Election campaigning ends in Madurai district

The 129 candidates who are contesting the 2026 Assembly elections from across the 10 Assembly constituencies in Madurai district wrapped up their election campaign by 6 p.m. on Tuesday adhering to the deadline.

Candidates representing DMK, AIADMK, NTK, TVK, other political parties and independents engaged in high voltage campaigning following the filing of their nominations. The campaigning included public meetings, public rallies and door to door canvassing for the votes.

DMK candidate for Madurai East Assembly constituency P. Moorthy concluded the final phase of his campaign at Othakadai while DMK candidate for Madurai Central Assembly constituency Palanivel Thiaga Rajan concluded his election campaign near the Masi streets. NDA candidate Sundar C also concluded his campaign near the Masi streets.
