Dinesh Former Minister and senior Congress leader Kimmane Ratnakar has accused the BJP of raising the women’s reservation issue just ahead of State elections purely as a political gimmick, without any genuine intent to empower women. Addressing a press conference in Shivamogga on Tuesday (April 21), Mr. Ratnakar said the BJP, while in power at the Centre, deliberately merged the Women’s Reservation Bill with the contentious delimitation exercise and expected the Opposition to support it.
