From training personnel in jungle warfare to establishing temporary operating bases in the upper reaches at altitudes up to 7,000 feet, the J&K police and Central security forces reoriented their approach to track down terrorist modules, a senior government official told The Hindu. The ghastly terror attack on April 22, 2025, at Baisaran meadow, which left 26 people dead, mostly tourists, led to a complete overhaul of the security grid in the Kashmir Valley as well as the Jammu region. The Valley had not seen an attack of this scale on tourists in nearly a decade.
