District Election Officer and Collector S. Kandasamy said a total of 11,420 polling personnel will be deployed across 2,379 polling stations in all eight Assembly constituencies in the district for Assembly election on April 23. Addressing media persons on poll preparedness at the Collectorate here on Tuesday (April 21, 2026), he said randomisation of polling staff, police personnel and micro observers had been carried out in the presence of observers. “After the third phase of training on Wednesday morning, polling staff will be deployed to their respective polling stations and EVMs and other poll materials will be dispatched,” he added.
