The Thalassey Additional Sessions Court has convicted three CPI(M) workers in connection with the 2015 attack on Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) worker M.K. Rajesh, in which his palm was severed. The court sentenced the sixth accused, K.K. Sreejith, 47, to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment (RI). He was also slapped with a fine of ₹1.25 lakh. Failure to pay the fine will result in an additional one year and three months in jail.
