Manjunath Responding to a demand by Daskshina Kannada district In-charge Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao and Mangaluru City South MLA D. Vedavyas Kamath, Urban Development Minister Byrathi Suresh at a programme here on Saturday, assured of allocating funds for taking up underground drainage projects in Mangaluru city. At the function to launch phase-2 of Mahatma Gandhi Nagar Vikas Yojana, Mr. Rao said several crores is needed for the underground drainage projects in Mangaluru. He urged Mr. Suresh to make a start by allocating funds from the Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation or any other agencies and launch the UGD works.
