There was good news for the Bengaluru Turf Club, which was the epicentre of the outbreak of Glanders, a contagious disease in equines. As per clause-5 of the National Action Plan for Control and Eradication of Glanders in India, the area which had been declared as “notified area’ has been de-notified and the restriction imposed on the movement of equines, donkeys and mules in and out of the notified area is withdrawn with immediate effect.
