A group of women gathered in front of the house of DMK candidate for Palayamkottai constituency M. Abdul Wahab on Wednesday demanding ‘cash for votes’. After a section of voters in Manakavalanpillai Nagar in ward 7 of Tirunelveli Corporation, represented by DMK councillor Indra, did not receive cash for votes while others in their area were allegedly given ₹1,000 per voter, the ‘affected electorate’, mostly women, took out the march towards the house of Palayamkottai MLA and DMK contestant of this constituency Mr. Abdul Wahab.
