A tourist bus ferrying about 47 students of a Kuvempu University College in Shivamogga district rammed into two trucks on Panvel-Kanniyakumari NH 66 on April 29, off Trasi Beach in Udupi district. | Photo Credit: SPECIAL ARRAGEMENT Three persons died and 35 were injured when a tourist bus ferrying college students rammed a stationary tanker truck and goods truck that were parked on the flanks of Panvel-Kanniyakumari National Highway 66 at Trasi in Udupi District on Wednesday (April 29, 2026). The driver of the bus, the cleaner and the cook are the ones who died in the accident, according to initial reports. The injured 35 out of 47 students have been shifted to various hospitals in Kundapura and Udupi. Ambulance operators Krishna Nayakawadi and Sameer Basha shifted 26 of these injured to hospitals. The bus was being driven from Byndoor towards Udupi.
