A security guard from the tourism department was assaulted by visitors from Madurai in Kanniyakumari on Friday. According to police sources, the security guard has been identified as Paalraj, 47, from Tholayavattam. A group of tourists from Vadipatti in Madurai had visited Kanniyakumari. Of them R. Raja, 42, Vijay, 19, and a 16-year-old were reportedly bathing in a restricted and dangerous zone near Triveni sangamam.
