HYDERABAD Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), a subsidiary of Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) under the Ministry of Power, has initiated the fresh tender process for procurement of 3,604 electric buses as part of its plans to expand clean public transport across Tier-II and Tier-III cities. According to Advisor (Media & Coordination) to EESL A. Chandra Sekhara Reddy, under the newly floated 3,604-bus tender process as part of the PM-eBus Sewa Scheme Telangana would get 151 buses, (Warangal-100 and Nizamabad–51) and Andhra Pradesh (Tirupati) would get 300 buses. Under the PM-eBus Sewa Scheme, Andhra Pradesh has been allocated 750 electric buses, including 150 buses for Visakhapatnam. CEO of CESL & EESL Akhilesh Kumar Dixit said: “The initiative aligns with India’s broader commitment to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2070“.
